At Dobbes Family Estate, our winemaking objectives are to produce wines true to their varietal character with depth, richness, elegance, balance and flavor without going over-the-top with tannins, extract, barrels, or alcohol. Our wines are highly fruited, rich with aromas and often have a faint impression of sweetness on the palate due to ripe tannins and fruit. Close attention to detail in the vineyard such as crop load, site selection, harvest timing, gentle handling of the fruit, as well as fermentation and aging methodologies lead to well-balanced wines which are juicy, mouth-filling and delicious. Our wines are crafted to be very drinkable and approachable while young, yet have the structure and acidity to age well and reward the patient.
